Day 1
Starting in Genesis, God created the world in six days, including the sky, land, sea, plants, animals, and humans. On the seventh day, He rested. In the Garden of Eden, He placed Adam and Eve, instructing them to enjoy all but one tree.
Matthew 1:1-25 begins with a genealogy showing Jesus' ancestors from Abraham to King David and down to Joseph, Mary's husband. It explains that Mary, a virgin, was chosen to be Jesus' mother through the Holy Spirit. Joseph, initially unsure, decides to marry her after an angel tells him in a dream that Mary's child is from God and will save people from their sins. Jesus is born in Bethlehem, fulfilling prophecy, and is also called Immanuel, meaning "God with us."
